Mechanical: tensile ≥490 MPa, yield ≥400 MPa, elongation ≥22%, impact ≥27 J at −30°C. Recommended current — 2.5mm 70–100A · 3.2mm 110–150A · 4.0mm 150–200A · 5.0mm 200–260A.

What is an E7018 electrode used for?

E7018 is a low-hydrogen electrode referenced to AWS A5.1, used for structural steelwork, pressure applications and other high-strength joints where crack resistance matters.

Why do E7018 electrodes need re-drying?

Low-hydrogen coatings absorb moisture from the air, which can cause hydrogen cracking in the weld. Re-dry E7018 per the datasheet before welding critical joints.

E6013 vs E7018 - which should I use?

Use E6013 for general fabrication and easy handling; use E7018 when you need tougher, low-hydrogen welds for structural or code work.

What amperage does E7018 need?

Typical settings: 2.5 mm about 80-110 A and 3.2 mm about 110-150 A, DC+ preferred (AC possible). Check the box datasheet for exact values.
